Academic and Professional Interest

Kayte Ricketts is the Education Coordinator at the Bell County Museum in Belton.  As a military brat, she has lived in many places but calls Arizona and Louisiana home.  She received her Bachelor’s degree in History from Louisiana State University and holds two Master’s degrees; Master’s of Education (University of TX at El Paso) and Master’s of Public History (Arizona State University).

Prior to joining the staff at the Bell County Museum, Kayte was a classroom intervention teacher and a pre-kindergarten teacher.  Her formal education experience gives her insight into making engaging, educational programs for visitors of all ages that also meet the needs of local educators.  She enjoys helping people learn about history in fun, new ways.

Kayte is also active in the Texas Association of Museums in which she is the co-chair for the affinity group for Museum Emerging Leaders of Texas.  She has also presented at the Association’s annual conference and other professional conferences across the country.
