What if your favorite museum?
Like everyone else, it is so hard to pick just one! But my favorite museums tend to be ones that can tell their human stories well and make a connection to visitors today. I grew up in a Texas state park, so I am definitely partial to historic sites and parks (and used to trekking a long ways to see things – some of my favorite museums are definitely not on the regular tourist lists). A couple of my favorites right now include:
Abbe Museum, Massachusetts
El Camino Real Historic Trail Site, New Mexico (now closed, but it was so good!)
Norwegian Folk Museum of Cultural History, Norway
Head-Smashed-In Buffalo Jump World Heritage Site, Canada
Iona Abbey and Nunnery, Scotland
Gettysburg National Military Park
